Intro to Lean and Visual Management
With Aerospheres (UK)
Nick Osborne
Recently, we had the pleasure of delivering a Peak VM Intro to Lean & Visual Management training session with Aerospheres in Hemel Hempsted, and it was pleasure to deliver the material from start to finish. Lean principles and Visual Management (VM) aren’t just buzzwords—they’re powerful tools that help teams work smarter, communicate more clearly, and drive measurable improvements.
What stood out most during the session was the rich discussion around how these concepts can be applied across different types of businesses and departments. Whether in operations, quality control, finance, or sales customer service, Lean and Visual Management provide a framework for making processes more transparent, identifying bottlenecks by identifying and eliminating waste, and fostering collaboration across teams.
Participants investigated and shared real-world experiences from their places of work or on the “shopfloor” or “Gemba” and the session was delivered in such a way to be able to see the real applications of the concepts being delivered
We explored topics such as:
- Where Lean and Visual Management comes from
- The importance of Standards
- Waste – TIMWOODS
- 5S Workplace Organisation
- Visual Communication Methods
The session reinforced that Lean and Visual Management aren’t just for manufacturing—they’re for any organisation looking to work smarter, communicate better, and create a culture of continuous improvement.
A huge thank you to everyone at Aerospheres for their engagement and insights. It’s always exciting to see ideas come to life through discussion, collaboration, and curiosity. We can’t wait to see how teams implement these principles in their everyday work to drive meaningful results.
