Lifting Tackle
Shadow Boards
In the UK, Lifting Operations are regulated under the HSE by the Lifting and Lifting Equipment regulations 1998 (LOLER). LOLER regulations require examination of lifting equipment and accessories every 6 or 12 months, depending on the equipment.
Lifting Tackle shadow boards help support these inspections by provided a structured (through Visual Management) and logical method for storing Lifting Tackle and equipment.
Why use Lifting Tackle Shadow Boards
- Organise the Lifting Tackle so all equipment required for inspection is available.
- Set a limit on the amount of Lifting Tackle that should be found in a facility, meaning non-inspected (and safe) equipment can’t be used.
- Prevent Lifting Tackle from being stored on the floor or other areas where moisture or ingress of other contaminants could cause degradation.
- Assist with identification of Lifting Tackle and help group items by safe working loads (SWL) or similar function equipment.
Simple Process
Every organisation has a different requirement for the Lifting Equipment they would like to store on their Shadow Board, so it is very important we know the what equipment is to be included before we send a detail pricing proposal.
This is very easily done with a layout photograph (as shown). Creating a layout in this way also helps to create a 5S process of clarifying the items required.
On-Site Support
As Lifting Tackle Shadow Boards are commonly used to store heavy and difficult to handle equipment it is important that we obtain accurate design information and specify the correct hooks and mounting fixings for the board.
As part of our service, we can support onsite to ensure that the final solution is suited to the equipment, robust and has the desired longevity.
Restricted Space
Our Lifting Tackle Shadow Boards can be sized and configured to work with the space you have. This is particularly important if wall space to fix the Shadow Boards to is at a premium, as is often the case.
We also ensure, when designing our Shadow Boards, to work with our clients to place equipment in the most practical position for handling and use of the equipment.
Framework
When wall space is limited or Lifting Equipment needs to be placed in satellite locations around a facility, our Lifting Tackle Shadow Boards can be supplied on free standing framework ensuring the required equipment is always available.
We can supply both upright and ‘A’ frame type frames. ‘A’ frames are particularly suited if the Lifting Equipment might be required at different locations around a site and needs to be mobile.
Industry Specific Experience
We have extensive experience specifying, designing, manufacturing and delivering Lifting Tackle Shadow Boards. We understand the rigours the Shadow Boards need to adapt to in industries with heavy lifting applications.
We ensure to specify only the most robust and suitable materials for our Lifting Tackle Shadow Boards.
