Andon & Alerts

Andon puts the power of visibility directly on the shop floor. From simple light towers to wireless LED systems, discover how a signal in the right place at the right time transforms how your team responds to problems.

Why use an Andon Alert System

Light tower with local push buttons

Stack light, or light tower, is one of the most recognised and reliable forms of andon signalling. Mounted visibly above a workstation or machine, the tower displays a tri-colour stack — red, amber, and green — each triggered by a corresponding push button at the point of work. Green indicates the process is running normally; amber signals a situation that needs attention soon, such as a material shortage or a minor quality concern, but has not yet stopped production; and red signals an immediate stoppage requiring urgent intervention. This simple, locally operated system requires no networking infrastructure, is immediately understood by anyone on the shop floor, and provides an always-on, real-time picture of station status that is visible from a distance.

Custom LED & WiFi button system

modern, flexible approach to andon uses cloud-connected WiFi push buttons paired with addressable LED lights. When an operator presses a button at their workstation, the signal is sent over the local network and instantly triggers an LED indicator in a completely different area — such as a supervisor’s office, a maintenance bay, or a central control room. Because the buttons and lights communicate wirelessly, the system requires no dedicated wiring between locations and can be deployed, relocated, or expanded with minimal disruption. Each button can be mapped to a specific light, colour, or zone, giving teams the ability to distinguish between different call types — such as a quality alert, a materials request, or a line stoppage — at a glance from anywhere in the facility.
